Seaforth Construction Ltd. is seeking a Site Superintendent for Health Care and Commercial Building projects.

Job Description:

An individual in a role of Construction Site Manager/Site Superintendent/Junior Site Superintendent coordinates and leads the work on the site with subcontractors and labourers. This key leadership role is responsible for and will manage the day-to-day activities of the construction site for a given project, ensuring that company policies regarding safety and quality workmanship are met.

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Safety leadership through implementation of Seaforth Construction Ltd’s safety protocols and program monitoring the ensure performance of subcontractors and labourers on site.
  • Lead with clear and effective communication to maintain a positive sense of morale with subcontractors.
  • Supervise members of your team, developing them through clear constructive feedback and training while on and off the site.
  • Ensure goals, terms and conditions of contract are adhered to and carried out with regards to scope of work, change orders and site instructions. Ensure that safety protocols are followed and feedback given when working with all the trades and contractors on the job site.
  • Quality of workmanship and materials is maintained by subcontractors, Site Superintendent, and all employees of Seaforth Construction Ltd.
  • Review and ensure adequate and reasonable manpower is provided to achieve the safety and quality goals of the project. Be diligent in maintaining logs, records, inspections by updating them daily.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates continuous, progressive work and experience as a supervisor in the areas of Institutional and Commercial Tenant improvement construction.
  • Ideal candidate will have hands on carpentry experience. Gold Seal certificate is an asset.
  • Practical knowledge of scheduling work and construction activities on a site to successfully complete the work on budget and on time.
  • You have demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, workforce management, project execution, cost, quality and administration control.
  • Proactive in nature with the ability to problem-solve both work scope and subcontractors with mutual acceptance by all parties.
  • Clean knowledge of construction and building techniques and ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications.
  • Effective skills and proficiency with MS Office including MS Project.
